The first bluebells are out too!.. Once upon a time dandelion wine time was always about St George’s Day (23rd April) and, this year, it has almost returned there. Last year it was March 31st that the harvestable flush appeared, not that I’ve made dandelion wine for many years.

I’m just taking a break from extracting the honey I took from my top bar hive a couple of days ago.  I got 7 pieces of cut comb, which are all packed up and for sale in the office.  Now, having mashed the remaining, not so pretty, comb with a spatula and put it in the warming cabinet until it reached 101.7 degrees Fahrenheit, I’m putting it through my fruit press. I can see from here that it is still dripping well, so it is probably time to turn the screw to apply more pressure.
